Ken Fulk Designs Sadelle’s, His First New York Restaurant

Hot bagels! That’s what bakers announce periodically throughout the day at Sadelle’s, a Manhattan restaurant by Ken Fulk, the San Francisco–based designer’s first in the city. Calling the dining experience “bagel theater,” Fulk describes the 2,250-square-foot space as “classic New York deli dressed up with French patisserie high style.” That explains the to-go counter, inspired by La Cornue’s Château range, and the mismatched vintage Michael Thonet chairs. As for the packaging’s color palette? That’s derived from cream cheese and chives, of course.
