LaCantina Doors Celebrates Innovative Architecture with "Best of LaCantina" Design Competition

Call for entries for second annual LaCantina competition

LaCantina Doors and Interior Design invite designers to share their work with their colleagues and the world in the second annual “Best of LaCantina” design competition. Open to architects, interior designers and interior architects, developers, and home builders, the competition aims to showcase the best of contemporary design and celebrate the distinctive ways designers have used LaCantina’s products.

Based in California, LaCantina is the leading designer and manufacturer of innovative glass door technologies. Their folding, sliding, and swing door styles come in an array of on-trend and functional materials, like warm woods, sturdy aluminum, and energy-efficient cladding options. Using LaCantina’s high quality and aesthetically versatile products allows designers to blur the division between indoor and outdoor space elegantly across all sectors including residential, hospitality, commercial, and public spaces.

Projects will be appraised for their creativity, design innovation, originality, and the type and quantity of LaCantina systems used. Projects should demonstrate an enhanced lifestyle through the transformation of indoor-outdoor living spaces. Take a look at last years’ winners here for inspiration. Winners will be selected by a panel of three judges: Christopher Kennedy, renowned interior designer; Lee Maughan, vice president and general manager of LaCantina; and an editor from Interior Design.

Submission is now open, and entries must be submitted by September 7, 2018 to be eligible. LaCantina will announce the winners on September 14, 2018 and proudly feature the winning projects on its website, Interior Design’s website, and Interior Design’s Facebook page. One grand-prize winner will be treated to a three-day, two-night trip for two to New York City to explore the vibrant architecture and design scene the city has to offer during AIANY’s annual Archtober event, a festival of architectural activities, programs, and exhibits taking place in October 2018.
