Last night, Interior Design editor in chief Cindy Allen moderated an engaging panel on the meaning of luxury in today’s market. Called “Designing Meaningful Spaces,” the conversation touched upon the discrete and comprehensive ways history, the resurgence of craftsmanship, aesthetics, and professional experience work to create high-end spaces in the modern world. The guests on the panel were uniquely fit to comment on this topic. Along with Allen, renowned interior designer and Hall of Fame member Alexandra Champalimaud and her business parter Winston Kong were present, as well as Stephan Weishaupt of Avenue Road. The event took place at Weishaupt’s newest showroom in New York City, Avenue Road 8A, designed in collaboration with C McKEOUGH unLTD. The panel referenced Champalimaud's in-progress Fisher Island project Palazzo Della Luna. It neighbors Palazzo Del Sol, which features a residence designed by Sam Robin that made the Fall 2018 issue of Interior Design Homes.
