Striking a balance between the convenience of modern gadgets and the comforts of home, Lutron and The Shade Store announced February 26 the upcoming launch of automation by Lutron at The Shade Store—a comprehensive shade control system. The system, created by Lutron and available through The Shade Store in April, enables designers to integrate the brand’s lighting and movement technologies with a selection of window treatments by The Shade Store in one user-friendly interface.
“Automating window treatments has never been easier” says Laura Friedlander, senior director at Lutron. “Lutron’s alliance with The Shade Store will expand the market for smart window treatments and in parallel, will provide a simple selection, specification, and installation process.” The partnership gives designers a variety of window fashions to choose from—these include The Shade Store’s Roller Shades, Solar Shades, Roman Shades, and Drapery—while seamlessly integrating Lutron technology into the design of any room.
The automation system, which operates via a proprietary remote or the Lutron app, syncs with voice-controlled assistants, such as Amazon Alexa and Apple Siri. Precision alignment and noise-control capabilities also are included in the interface, enabling all window treatments to move quietly and in unison with the option to program them to automatically adjust depending on the time of day.
Staying true to their “custom made simple” mantra, The Shade Store, with its e-commerce platform and 90-plus showrooms nationwide, ensures a dependable specification and installation process. “We work to always anticipate our customers’ needs, and with the increasing prominence of in-home technology integration, we understand the importance of offering the best window treatment automation in the industry,” says Ian Gibbs, co-founder and chief creative officer of The Shade Store.
