Nordic Knots Creates Modernist Rugs Inspired by Scandinavian Heritage

It’s not just blood or marriage that connects Liza Laserow, her husband Fabian Berglund, and his brother, Felix Berglund. Believing in the credo that there’s a rug at the center of every beautiful Swedish home, the Scandinavian clan recently launched Nordic Knots as a sequel of sorts to the modernist heritage of their homeland. The Modern Cut Pile collection makes specific references to early 20th–century design. Patterns such as Modern Pink allow vivacious color to animate the minimalist geometry depicted on the ground of plush New Zealand wool. Handwoven and hand-loomed, it is available in four dimensions ranging from 6 by 9 to 10 by 14 feet.
