Dorothée Noirbent Reimagines the Beach Cabana for Ego Paris

The first iteration of Dorothée Noirbent’s modular structures provide shelter for such events as farmers markets. Now, at the behest of Ego Paris, the environmental designer has applied the idea to a traditional cabana, resulting in the Beach Nested Cabin. The five versions—named Honfleur, Deauville, Noirmoutier, Biarritz, and Pampelonne, after French coastal cities and beaches—aptly nest inside each other. Their thermo-lacquered aluminum frames come in 35 colors, and are draped in Serge Ferrari’s Batyline mesh in a choice of three menswear-inspired striped patterns. Inside, a high-resilience foam mattress upholstered in outdoor fabric rests on thermo-treated ash slats.
