From five to one, good design can improve all manner of entities. Take the hospital gown. Today, there are five types utilized, from maternity to telemetry. Yet even with all those, access to the body can be challenging for clinicians. Enter the Patient Gown by Care+Wear x Parsons. The health-wear company partnered with 12 undergrads from the School of Fashion at the New School’s Parsons School of Design to create a master prototype that not only allows necessary access and coverage but also reduces costs for medical facilities. The snap-detailed cotton-polyester result has already been snapped up by the MedStar Health hospital system.
