Following the continuing devastation in the Houston area from Hurricane Harvey, Clarus Glassboards set up a fundraising campaign targeted to the design community. The Dallas-based company is asking designers and manufacturers to donate to the American Red Cross, and in response, Clarus has pledged to match every dollar until a $250,000 goal is reached.
“Many of our employees, including our co-founder, Jeremy Rincon, are from Houston,” explains Bryce Stuckenschneider, Clarus’s VP of marketing. “Jeremy challenged our team to work on an idea that would rally the industry and maximize the amount of relief we could offer the victims. Designers, dealers, and manufacturers have incredible reach and exposure, and we couldn’t think of a better way to challenge our peers.”
In addition, Clarus is hoping to provide another service: potential jobs for the displaced Houstonians who are currently seeking shelter in Dallas. “Our HR and recruiting team is working on strategies to reach out to convention centers that are housing refugees and advertise the opportunities we have available," Stuckenschneider says. “We still have Hurricane Katrina refugees that work on the Clarus team."
