Nemo Tile Teams Up With Bisazza

Nemo Tile’s influence in the contract design industry continues to grow. The family-owned supplier of high-performance surface materials has joined forces with Italian mosaic tile manufacturer Bisazza, becoming the company’s exclusive distributor in the Northeast region.

Nemo Tile will distribute Bisazza’s luxury glass mosaics for use in hospitality, contract, and residential projects. Bisazza, established in 1956, quickly became one of the world’s leading manufacturers of glass mosaic tiles, but the products are primarily distributed in Europe.

The new relationship is a natural progression for Nemo Tile, which has recently expanded its offerings to include stone. Its debut stone line, Think Thin, is composed of natural stone panels cut at a delicate half-inch thickness, making them lighter and less expensive than traditional slabs. “When a designer installed a wall of stone ... they had to buy these huge, thick slabs that come with major installation fees,” Nemo Tile president and CEO Matthew Karlin said. “These thinner slabs allow for better cut stones that are more visually appealing—and cost significantly less.”

Bisazza also recently widened its glass-tile focus with a cement tile line that takes cues from 19th- and 20th-century palaces.
