The Dutch hospitality firm citizenM announces their second property in London: citizenM Tower of London, an 8-story hotel with 370 rooms, opposite the British landmark. Amsterdam’s Concrete oversaw its design, furnished by Vitra with classic pieces in the lobby by Verner Panton, Charles & Ray Eames, and Jean Prouvé, all illuminated by a kinetic light installation from Studio Drift.

"With its unique central location, we wanted to make London's new flagship citizenM more contextual than ever,” says concrete partner Erikjan Vermeulen. “The Tower Hill location gave inspiration to think about new functionalities.”

Guests can enjoy 360 views of the city from the hotel’s wrap-around terrace and interior floor-to-ceiling windows, or turn their attention to commissioned art including a wall piece by Peter Lamb and a Julian Opie work that covers much of the hotel’s façade. Guest rooms offer Hansgrohe power rain showers and custom bath products designed by Alessandro Gualtieri.

Amenities, Vermeulen says, include “coffeeM, citizenM's new coffee concept located right by the street serving passers by, and societyM, a blend between a meeting area and a rooftop bar with great views over London's historic city centre.” Views can also be enjoyed at cloudM, a full bar on the terrace, or through the full-height windows in the 24-hour cafeteria, canteenM, which boasts a full-service bar and an open kitchen creating freshly baked pastries, salads, and specialty dishes. Drinks throughout the program were designed by mixologists Critical Mass.

For the hotel, CitizenM has launched a retail concept, collectionM, comprising over one hundred travel accessories, books, design objects, and fine art, all available for sale at the hotel or online. They also developed a capsule collection of limited-edition art from Barbara van den Berg and Paul Cox, among others, in collaboration with The Public House of Art and on display in the guest rooms.
