Good Samaritan Regional Health Center is a full service, 134-bed, acute care facility with all private patient rooms located in Mt. Vernon, Ill.
The hospital was designed to advance patient safety, while replicating the comforts of home with the technology of tomorrow.
The design of the patient rooms were partially based on feedback BSA LifeStructures received from users and community members who toured mock-ups of the patient rooms prior to construction.
Reminiscent of a Catholic cathedral, the bell tower was specially designed to abstractly display a set of large bronze, Cosanti wind-bells. The original bells were an old gift from the hospital’s founding Sisters and additional sets of bells have been donated by community members.
