3 Must-Visit Manhattan Hotels

Manhattan designers put the “hot” in hotels.

1. Firm: Jeffrey Beers International.
Project: Renaissance New York Midtown Hotel.
Standout: Refined walnut millwork and raw concrete yield a high-low aesthetic in keeping with witty artwork featuring pins, collar stays, and other fashion items.

Project: Hotel Indigo Lower East Side.
Standout: Exposed brick, blackened iron, chandeliers made from bicycle wheels, and street-art references all connect a new building to its gritty neighborhood.

Project: Time New York, Midtown.
Standout: A faceted glass elevator whisks guests from the street entry up to the lobby on two, where origamilike draperies can close off the cocktail bar.
