A Tale of Two Jeffries

Architect Jeffrey Beers and restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow first collaborated back in 1987—that was for China Grill, at Midtown’s CBS headquarters by Eero Saarinen and Associates. +read article

TOY was designed to be a fluid environment that transforms from restaurant to nightclub.

$The DJ booth echoes the fractal design of the ceiling and also reflects specially-designed projected images and message.$

Jeffrey Beers International removed one column, paired down others and used reflective materials to make the 2,000SF space appear more expansive.

Beers created a series of “dining moments” by using a variety of table shapes and seating options throughout TOY.

Banquettes were custom fabricated by Five Star.

A printed, sheerscrim reveals gauzy silhouettes of guests on the stair.

$The mirrored, fractal ceiling was fabricated by Arch Production & Design NYC and weighs 1,500 pounds.$

The sheer scrim was fabricated by Rosebrand and displays custom graphics, which will changeseasonally, designed by Jeffrey Beers International.
