New York’s ICFF held special import this year for Italian lighting icon Flos – the company celebrated its 50th anniversary on May 18 at their showroom in SoHo. In honor of the occasion, Flos launched a retrospective iPad app created by Mobile Dream Studio, Flos’s CEO, journalist Stefano Casciani, and photographer Ramak Fazel. The results include a stunning history, a catalogue of design, and scanned copies of love letters sent by designers to the company over the decades. Flos also introduced the limited-edition Light Photon lamp, designed by Philippe Stark using OLED technology and a mirror-effect metalized diffuser and distinguished by a special Flos 50 logo sensor – a link between the company’s history and its future.
