Bentley’s “Outlier” Brings Contemporary Cool to Commercial Carpeting

As the boundaries between work, play, and resting spaces continue to blur, commercial designers increasingly seek products that can meet the functional demands of highly mobile and discerning end users who crave playful designs and sustainable manufacturing. It’s a tall order, but fortunately, designers don’t have to look too far to find a solution.

Bentley’s Outlier breaks the mold of staid commercial carpeting. Outlier’s deeply textured carpets feature an inventive blend of geometric designs overlaying organic patterns with metallic inflections of silver, bronze, or gold that give an edgy pop. “Outlier plays with and elevates what we created with Bentley’s Repose and Ritual,” explains Libby Cook, director of product development operations. “It’s a non-literal take on forms found in nature, infused with more pattern and personality.”

Outlier is made with Antron® Lumena™ Type 6,6 Nylon for ultimate color and performance, making the carpet ideal for high-density, high-traffic sectors like hospitality, retail, education, and healthcare. “Our products are flexible enough to use anywhere,” Cook continues. “We want them to tap into someone’s comfort level wherever they are, whether it’s an office, a classroom, or a healthcare living situation.”

The new carpet pattern comes in flexible tile sizes, including 9-inch by 36-inch half planks, 18-inch by 36-inch full planks, and 24-inch squares, as well as broadloom applications. Outlier is Cradle to Cradle Silver–certified and also helps achieve LEED and WELL project points.
