Inloki Plays With Indoor/Outdoor Space for an Outsystems Office in Portugal

The global optimized IT services and solutions company Outsystems has offices everywhere from Boston to Dubai, each embodying a flexible, open-space approach and an industrial spirit. For their new office in Proença-a-Nova, a small town in central Portugal, Inloki founder Carlos Delgado Pinto needed to capture that character on a smaller scale and budget.

“It was an investment shared by Outsystems and the municipality,” Pinto says, in an effort to employ local workers and residents. First, Inloki added a new volume to an existing three-story building for social areas, with an open-air patio on top. Then, inspired by the firm’s logo, they added a steel staircase. “It was a huge challenge,” Pinto says, “to concept and build and assemble in situ the different pieces.”

After all that work, though, came the play: a slide suggested by Outsystems employees, stadium seating to watch the fun, and a charming graphic wall designed by the Portuguese street artist Vanessa Teodoro.
