Capri Cork - Medley

Brayton International, Metro, and Vecta, all divisions of Steelcase, have now coalesced as. . .Coalesse. The new entity will absorb all the furnishings previously manufactured by its three constituent parts. But to prove that the move means more than just remerchandising, Coalesse also assembled a famed foursome to commemorate the inauguration with a group of original designs. more >>

Haworth - ArtCollection shelving unit

Can you name this shelving unit? At press time, it was so new that the name wasn't finalized. What we can tell you is that the piece belongs to the new ArtCollection for Haworth. Construction is plywood, offered in one or two paint colors, and measurements are 72 inches wide by 16 high by 15 deep. more >>

Harter - Get

As with a good wardrobe, comfort and versatility are essential to any good task chair. And those were the driving forces behind Get, an addition to the Action line of swivel chairs from Harter. John Kaloustian designed the chair to adjust easily to suit each sitter. To assure that it's as easy on the eyes as it is on the seat, the manufacturer offers a fashion show of choices. The perforated polypropylene back comes in 12 pop-culture colors, from Messenger Bag Green to Backpack Orange, with a partial or full back pad optional. The die-cast aluminum base can be polished or painted. For the upholstery, choose from any Harter Textile fabric or a selection of suiting-inspired patterns from KnollTextiles, many in recycled polyester. There are also three arm styles and 13 paint colors for metal trim. more >>

HBF - C Collection

From One Laptop Per Child for underprivileged kids to updated Birkenstocks for urban earth mothers, Yves Béhar always has a trick up his sleeve. That's particularly true this spring, with the launch of his C collection for HBF. Taking a breather between Milan's Salone Internazionale del Mobile and a project in the Costa Rican rain forest, the Fuse project founder explains his collection's name: "The C stands for collaboration. Visually, though, a C represents a curve. A single arc becomes the signature." more >>

Erg International - Zola

The Zola café chair is a slim, slip of a girl. Enjoy her curvy shell of oak or African zebrawood and her steel frame with self-leveling glides. And she's versatile, too: in barstools or demi-back counter stools, with or without arms. Available in 16 wood-stain colors and 24 powder coats or chrome. more >>

Arturo Álvarez - Norman

With Norman, strips of black opalescent glass adhere to a clear methacrylate diffuser, allowing light to pass through the gaps. The linear fixture measures 47 inches long. A wall-mounted version, which installs vertically or horizontally, comes in two lengths, 46 3/5 and 12 inches. more >>

Poltrona Frau - Chair

Rarely is a director's chair ready for its close-up. But François Russo's Helleu indisputably is. A tribute to Russo's deceased friend Jacques Helleu, art director for Chanel perfume, beauty, watches, and jewelry during more than four decades, this Poltrona Frau chair is slightly formal and even delicate in appearance— but is actually constructed from materials much sturdier than your average wood and canvas. The white Corian on the crossed legs conceals a steel frame, the armrests and stretcher are polished steel, and the seat and back are saddle leather, offered in coffee, Conero red, Dove gray, blue, and olive. more >>

Donovan Design - Patent

Unsurprisingly, the drum shade of the Patent pendant fixture is patent leather on the exterior. The surprise is the interior, with its harlequin pattern in black, white, and silver fiberglass. Available in custom diameters up to 48 inches and heights up to 24 inches. more >>

Liv'it - Mesh

Whether positioned against a wall or as a freestanding room divider, Roberto Giacomucci's Mesh bookcase accepts glass shelves or holds objects (or nothing) as is. The chrome wire structure is supported by a heat-formed glossy base. It measures 47½ inches wide by 6¾ inches deep and stands 73 5/8 inches high. more >>

Costantini Design - Novecento

The Novecento booth derives inspiration from the manufacturer's Yi sofa from its 2004 collection. Why not riff on good design? The modular curved bench features the same high, slim back, perched on short, dainty legs. But Novecento's elegant semicircular shape adds dazzle. Shown in solid guayubira wood, it is also available in cherry or paraiso in custom colors and finishes. more >>

Derin Design - A1

Arif Özden's A1 chair elicits smiles. The generous seat, widespread legs, and bright colors evoke childhood, but the clean lines and minimalism are very grown-up. Made of fiberglass, A1 can be finished in polished or matte lacquer in green, yellow, red, black, and white. It measures a mere 30 inches high by 20 inches wide by 16 inches deep. more >>

Todd Bracher Studio - Boom cocktail tables

Sate your inner Homer Simpson with doughnut-shape Boom cocktail tables. Hollow centers allow these glossy lacquered fiberglass pieces to nest inside one another. The smallest, Simply Boom, is 37 inches in diameter, medium Very Boom is 53 inches, and the largest, Super Boom, measures a whopping 69 inches. more >>

Earth Mother - Swala Line

With the environmentally conscious Zulu Mama stacking café chair for Swala Line, Haldane Martin mingles traditional South African basket crafts with industrial materials. The seats, constructed of ultraviolet-resistant extruded plastic made from recycled milk bottles, are handwoven in the Limpopo region, where jobs are scarce. The stainless-steel frame is fully recyclable. more >>

Bright Chair - Jason

Turns out high school geometry comes in handy. Jason, a geometric table and console line, consists of stacked rectangles and triangles constructed from hardwoods. The collection includes two- and three-tier coffee tables, three- and four-tier consoles, three-tier end tables, and two-tier triangular end tables. Each piece comes in one to three sizes, and all are available with such luxurious finishes as lacquer ebony, raisin walnut, natural light cherry, natural maple, and red mahogany. more >>

Josh Urso Design - Knoop

This table is both knotty and nice. Knoop, which is Dutch for knot, features a tangled base sculpted of military-grade rope impregnated with resin. Topped with glass, the resulting coffee table is a beautiful sleight of hand. Custom sizes are available. more >>

Resol - Fiona

The smooth lines of Fiona go with the flow and reflect organic shapes. The back, slim and curved like a blade, provides an edge. This indoor-outdoor piece is of polypropylene, comes complete with UV protection, and is stackable. Available in white, light gray, dark gray, ivory, and orange. more >>
