3form - Dragon

The manufacturer's LightArt division not only caters to designers with a made-to-order collection of sconces and pendants but handles custom commissions as well. Envisioned for an office-building lobby in City of Industry, California, Dragon is a brilliant demonstration of the studio's capabilities. An aluminum frame supports a snakelike swath of translucent Varia Ecoresin panels, which are illuminated by color-changing RGB LEDs controlled via an iPad (as are smoke and sound effects).
