With the Morphing bath collection for Zucchetti.Kos, there's a continuum between antique and contemporary. Ludovica and Roberto Palomba, partners in the multidisciplinary Palomba Serafini Associati, designed the 30 mix-and-match tubs, sinks, cabinets, and accessories to recast archetypal forms in a composite of aluminum tri-hydrate, polyester, and acrylic resin. And all were exhibited at a location that perfectly illustrated the Palombas' time-traveling intentions: a gallery that now occupies a deconsecrated baroque church in Bologna, Italy.
The tubs, including back-to-wall and self-supporting models, recall old-fashioned cast-iron shapes but go mod with red or black painted exteriors in contrast to the basic white inside. Wall-mounted, under-basin cabinets come in limed cherrywood, wengé, or white lacquer, the same options available for wall-mounted base units and for vertical or horizontal storage units. Cenedese - Custom sink

It's hard to imagine anything that hasn't changed since the 1300's, but glassblowing on the Venetian island of Murano is one of them. Take the family still shepherding the Seguso company after 22 generations. Intent on remaining relevant by broadening its scope beyond vases and accessories, Seguso acquired neighboring Cenedese, a relative newcomer founded in 1946, and is expanding its offerings into the bathroom.
Each one-of-a-kind custom sink takes a team of at least six artisans, trained a minimum of 10 years, an average of five days to produce-you can't rush craftsmanship. Approximately 16 inches in diameter, the sinks are available in virtually any color or combination of colors. For assistance in choosing, designers can consult the exclusive North American importer and distributor, Hastings Tile & Bath, which then works closely with the factory to assure the accuracy of results. Norbert Wangen's K12 features a mechanized system to raise and lower the panel over the cooktop and sink, so a kitchen becomes a mysterious monolith depending on what's in use.
