Twelve years back, Shea Soucie and Martin Horner founded Soucie Horner, a Chicago interior architecture fi rm. Now they've joined with the fourth generation Illinois rug purveyor Oscar Isberian to launch SHIIR, a custom artisanal collection. To prepare, the parties went on a pilgrimage to India together seeking information and inspiration. Hence these exquisite rugs of cashmere, silk, and linen: fresh renditions of nearly every genre. Nimbus has a curvaceous mazelike design; abstract Passage could be framed; in Iconic Ikat, the indigenous method gets a modern, almost floral tweak.
