Flavor Paper - Bucote
What's the best thing about Flavor Paper? It never goes stale. The Brooklyn wallcovering collective keeps freshness at the forefront, whether the format is handscreened or digitally printed. Among the latest in the latter category, Boone Speed plays with light in the random amber tones of Glow. Rex Ray offers an updated depiction of classical hanging ornaments in the colorful Bucote, while Heather Ujiie taps hippie-chic sensibilities in her sprightly Pop Bouquets. Realism reigns in Purity, a photo transfer by Stephen Ellis. All can be scaled for an exact fit to the wall, at a repeat of 53 inches wide. Ironically, Milton Glaser's Dot Matrix sounds digital but is actually hand-screened with water-based inks on 27-inch-wide panels; it's available in custom colors. Last, there's Tres Chic, based on an archival drawing by Midcentury fashion illustrator Hilda Glasgow. Digital patterns can be produced in your choice of commercial vinyl, standard vinyl, latex, or Terralon (a PVC-free blend of polyester and natural fibers). 718-422-0230; flavorpaper.com.
