In the case of Angela Gruszka's Skylight collection, it came from the tar sealant used to preserve a wrought-iron Victorian skylight in the company's flagship store in New York. The collection's 12 rugs sport irregular lines that are bold and graphic, rendered in black against a white backdrop.
