Feeling dog tired? Need a cat nap? Three lucky pets will now sleep in style following The Animal Medical Center’s (AMC) Top Dog Gala at New York’s famed Rainbow Room. Highlighting the event is a live auction featuring three pet homes designed by three of New York’s finest architects.

Hand-picked by The AMC, William Peterson of Kohn Pederson Fox, Sandi Pei of Pei Partnerships Architects, and Bartholomew Voorsanger of Voorsanger Architects designed and built a luxury doghouse, birdhouse, and cat condo, respectively, for the event, each inspired by existing designs from around the world. Pederson’s doghouse, named “One Jackson,” is modeled after Greenwich Village condominium complex One Jackson Square; the birdhouse by Pei is based on pavilions in Tianfu Square in Chengdu, China; and Voorsanger’s muse for his cat condo, titled “Cats Cradle,” was a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The pet homes will be auctioned off by Christie’s Chairman Stephen S. Lash. Proceeds will benefit The AMC’s programs and services helping to better serve the tri-state area with routine care, emergency services, and treatment for pets suffering from unusual or complex diseases.
