Spa at Red Rock, Las Vegas

Debra Scott -- Interior Design, 12/1/2006

Entering the Spa at Red Rock is a little like breezing past the velvet rope of a VIP lounge. Nods to vintage Vegas—a clinking shell chandelier and a 38-foot-high perforated screen—appear in the reception area for the 25,000-square-foot facility. Tinted mirrors cast guests in the most flattering light. And the color red, a subtle reference to the sandstone of the nearby canyon, pops up in leather-covered seating and silk-velvet curtains. "The spa experience is about appealing to all the senses," principal Michael Czysz says. Meanwhile, serenity prevails where treatment rooms rise from a reflecting pool.
