Haworth’s Zody Chair Earns Fourth Award

The chair can be used to obtain LEED credits from the U.S. Green Building Council.

Haworth’s Zody chair, is raking in the accolades. The office furniture manufacturer’s newest seating addition has already earned Silver Best of NeoCon, a Gold Product Award at NeoCon Canada IIDEX, and Gold Cradle to Cradle Product Certification from sustainable firm McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry. Its newest trophy is the 2005 Good Design Award.

Presented by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, the Award recognizes new and innovative product concepts. Easy-to-assemble Zody has four-way adjustable arms, a sliding seat, balanced three-point tilt mechanism, asymmetrical lumbar system, and a gel seat option that reduces lower back muscle activity. The chair also utilizes an asymmetrical lumbar support system, allowing the user to increase support to either side of the lower back independently, depending on preference.

Made with up to 51 percent recycled content and up to 98 percent recyclable materials, PVC -free, chrome-free and CFC-free Zody can be applied towards LEED credits from U.S. Green Building Council.

Zody was selected from hundreds of international entries--ranging from an airplane to a paper clip. The design competition, founded in 1950, is one of the oldest worldwide.
