Knoll Launches New Textile Brand
All of the designs are certified by the Greenguard Environmental Institute.

A familiar name is entering the high-end textile market: Furniture and textile manufacturer Knoll has launched a new high-end textile brand designed by Knoll creative director Dorothy Cosonas. Billed as modern and minimalist, incorporating the finest quality, premium yarns, Knoll Luxe is similar in flair to designs released by Florence Knoll in 1947. It will be marketed as a completely separate identity from the firm's established KnollTextiles fabric line.
Knoll Luxe is designed for the corporate and hospitality markets, but can also be used for residential applications. The initial rollout will include 10 patterns in 71 colorways, in fibers including mohair, cashmere, wool, and cotton -- all are certified by the Greenguard Environmental Institute and pass all standard ACT tests. Among the offerings is the 98 percent wool and two percent nylon North Island, woven by an exclusive mill in New Zealand. Prices will generally fall between $94 to $145; mohair tops off at $235. New products will be launched biannually, in the fall and the spring.
The label will launched under an environmentally marketing campaign -- tickets, sample folders, and brochures are made of FSC-certified recycled paper, and the sample box is fabricated from recycleable 100 percent acrylic.
