Designers from across the country have submitted artwork representing the face of a non-domesticated animal for Faces in the Wild, an auction sponsored by office furniture manufacturer Humanscale. The event, open to the public, will take place September 29 at Humanscale’s New York showroom on 26th Street.
The sale of a collected assortment of masks, sculpture, paintings, drawings, photographs, and woven design will benefit the World Wildlife Fund. Humanscale will make a donation matching auction proceeds. Last year, 250 attendees earned more than $12,000, for a total donation of $24,000.
Submissions are judged by a panel representing a wide range of design disciplines. Artists who donate become eligible to win either a Humanscale Freedom chair or a Humanscale Liberty chair.
One-hundred percent of a ten-dollar donation, collected at the door, will also go to the Fund.
The Humanscale showroom is located at 11 East 26th St, 8th Floor. The auction is from 5:30-8:30pm.
