A slew of expanded offerings are in store for attendees to the annual Healthcare Design conference, convening at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Washington, D.C. from November 8-11.
The gathering aims to answer a sweeping question: How does the design of built environments impact the safety, operation, clinical outcomes and financial success of healthcare facilities? Among the solvers will be healthcare administrators and operations executives, architects, interior designers, facility managers, design/build professionals, researchers, educators and students.
Produced by the nonprofit Center for Health Design and publisher Vendome Group in conjunction with the American Institute of Architects Academy of Architecture for Health, this year's conference boasts more than 80 educational sessions and discussion workshops. Educational session tracks include Safe Hospital Design, Impact of Technology on Facility Design, and Innovations in Facility Planning.
Two keynote speakers will also take to the stage. Mickey McManus, president and CEO of Maya Design, will present "Taming Complexity through Human-Centered Design” on Sunday, November 9. The following day, Wayne B. Jonas, M.D., founding president and CEO of the Samueli Institute, will discuss "The Next Natural Step: Optimal Healing Environments."
