Herman Miller Launches Green Furniture Line

Herman Miller Environment will consist of eight classic piece in eco friendly fabric.

The Eames Aluminum Group Lounge Chair is just one of several design classics from Herman Miller available in eco friendly fabric beginning May 15. The furniture manufacturer has teamed up with New York retailer ABC Home to release Herman Miller Environment, a line of eight popular pieces upholstered with Greenguard-certified fabric from Maharam.

Available exclusively from ABC Home, the collection also includes the Executive chair and Compact sofa in Massive Paisley, and the Aeron, Mirra, and Cella chairs, which meet criteria for Cradle to Cradle certification. The fabric, selected for its versatility allows the pieces to slip from office to residential setting. ABC Home will showcase the collection on the second floor of its Flatiron building with educational wall projections offering information on designers Charles and Ray Eames.

The retailer first carried Herman Miller products over ten years ago.

Herman Miller Environment is a continuation of ABC Home's new modern furnishings "stores within stores" initiative, which also includes platforms for Tom Dixon and Blu Dot. A Kartell shop is in the works.
