Roger Thomas Wins Big

As the driving force behind the Wynn Las Vegas, Bellagio, and Treasure Island, Roger Thomas has already introduced high rollers to his elegant personal style. And his interiors for casino hotels and furniture for Edward Ferrell + Lewis Mittman prove he's well beyond Sin City glitz. The Roger Thomas Signature collection's 26 pieces are not encumbered by excess embellishment. The Wall Street cabinet, with its substantial posts, takes its cue from Palladian facades. The Veneto lounge chair features sculpted beechwood legs with a silver-leaf finish and in set welting. Bianca, a racy bench named for the designer's Italian greyhound, mingles Roman stylization and Egyptian animal forms. Influenced by chairs in a Venetian 16th-century palazzo, the Donato wingback creates an island of conversation, warding off eavesdroppers as well as drafts. Finally, the Lombard bed, with its curved upholstered headboard, could bring anyone's inner starlet to the surface, from Gina Lollobrigida on down. 979 Third Avenue, New York, NY 10022; 212-888-5580; lewismittman.com. circle 352

Brentano

On the catwalk, thin might be in—but the Runway collection is all about curves. Lingerie-chic netted Crinoline comes in innocent white, and Coquette, available in six colorways, features embroidered loops. 1451 Paddock Drive, Northbrook, IL 60062; 800-338-7210; brentanofabrics.com. circle 353

Gandia Blasco

Horizontality hits a high note with Mario Ruiz's Flat daybeds. Designed for the outdoors, the frames of seamless thermo-lacquered aluminum support polyethylene cushions. Finish colors are black, white, orange, and green; for the cushions, it's black, white, gray, chocolate brown, orange, and Egg Yellow. 217 East 59th Street, New York, NY 10022; 212-421-6701; gandiablasco.com. circle 354

Stark Carpet Corp.

You'll cut a rug with Waltz. A white viscose loop creates the graceful pattern on a black ground of cut-pile semi-worsted wool. Specify custom sizes. 979 Third Avenue, New York, NY 10022; 212-752-9000; starkcarpet.com. circle356

Nienkämper

Despite a small footprint, Arda fills some big shoes. The chair can be upholstered in either fabric or leather to complement a back shell offered in maple, walnut, or cherry. A stainless-steel handle on the back, hind legs in brushed aluminum, and castors can be part of the picture, too. 257 Finchdene Square, Toronto, Ontario M1X 1B9, Canada; 800-668-9318; nienkamper.com. circle 355

Vital Vinyl

Patty Madden had a busy year in 2007. Besides her signature wall coverings for Luxe Surfaces, she launched the company's Patty Madden Software brand with eight patterns of vinyl-urethane blend upholstery in iridescent colors inspired by the Silk Road. Rivera, available in 32 lustrous tones, is the chameleon of the group. Vertical ticking stripes define Ybor. Banyan recalls the woven material used to make suitcase straps. Olympus features small interconnected dots. Aspen has a stylized leaf pattern. Capreni mimics cracked leather grain. Martini shakes up colors galore. And Bari's texture is almost like flannel. Tested to exceed 100,000 Wyzenbeek double rubs, these textiles are fit for use indoors and out. Add colorfastness, antibacterial properties, resistance to mold and ultraviolet light, and a passing grade from the International Maritime Organization to the roster, and this line is clearly setting sail for hospitality, health-care, and educational projects around the world. 10020 Maumelle Boulevard, North Little Rock, AR 72113; 501-748-1113; pattymaddensoftware.com. circle 357

Silver State

In keeping with the arts and crafts concept that the maker's hand should be evident in the product, the Agora collection from Aláxi is full of unlikely textural combinations. With dimensional Whirlwind Tour, stitched dots create a luminous pattern in a polypropylene-rayon blend. Crewel-inspired Milledge is woven from rayon and polyester. 1010 West 2610 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84119; 800-453-5777; alaxifabrics.com. circle 360

Samuel & Sons

Transcending textiles and wall coverings, Lori Weitzner introduces the Carnivale collection of trimmings, all made of Venetian glass. Elongated Pisani, which takes its name from a 15th-century palazzo, is offered in Acqua, Pesca, and Marino. Grassi, a flattened sphere, boasts spiraling vertical stripes in Blu Parone and Ambrats. 983 Third Avenue, New York, NY 10022; 212-704-8000; samuelandsons.com. circle 362
