Giorgio Borruso Design

SNAIDERO, CORAL GABLES, FLORIDA

Giorgio Borruso DesignIn spite of the popularity of open kitchens, they pose a dilemma for serious cooks. Is it better to conceal the commotion of preparing dinner or to show off for your guests? Giorgio Borruso's design for this 1,750-square-foot space takes a figurative approach to the notion of contained chaos, courtesy of the painted aluminum tubes that emerge from a central location on the sales floor and explode into three-dimensional tangles across the ceiling. Most of the tubes terminate inside the space, alongside or atop various vignettes and information kiosks. The rest snake out the front door, morphing into signage in this busy retail area.
