Andre Staffelbach
Andre Staffelbach, a former national president of the Institute of Business Designers, also has held the presidency of the NCIDQ (National Council of for Interior Design Qualifications) as well as chairmanship of numerous design organizations. He founded his Dallas-based design firm in 1966 (incorporated eight years later), heading a staff of 50 designers, architects and support personnel. In 1985, Staffelbach Designs and Associates merged with Interior Spaces of Kansas City, Missouri, and Topeka, Kansas, resulting in the firm designation of Staffelbach Design Associates.
Swiss-born and educated, Mr. Staffelbach studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule Luzern and Zurich. He was trained at design firms in his native country, then came to the United States in 1962 to work and live in New York, San Francisco and Chicago for three years. His all-commercial client roster reads like a veritable compendium of the moneyed and mighty: American Airlines, Equitable Life, Frito-Lay, IBM, Mobil Oil Corporation, Lomas & Nettleton Financial Corporation, Prentiss Properties Urban Development, Rosewood Properties, Bear Stearns & Co., Centex Corporation, HBK, Price Waterhouse, The Boston Consulting Group and Patrizio Restaurants in Dallas and Plano, Texas.
Mr. Staffelbach has served in many countries on local and national boards of professional and civic organizations and his work has been published in over 150 national and international publications and books.
