Speaker: Candy Chang, founder and creator of Before I Die
Candy Chang is an artist who is passionate about public space and personal well-being. By combining public art with activism and introspection, she has been recognized for her projects to help improve our communities and ourselves. After losing someone she loved, she created Before I Die on an abandoned house in her neighborhood in New Orleans for people to reflect on their lives and share their personal aspirations in public space. The Atlantic called it “one of the most creative community projects ever,” and thanks to passionate people around the world, over one hundred Before I Die walls have now been created in over 10 languages and in over 30 countries, including Kazakhstan, Argentina, China, Italy, and South Africa.
