Collecting Design: History, Collections, Highlight

MODERN Magazine and Phillips de Pury & Company present the first educational program devoted to the study of collecting modern and contemporary design. Join Daniella Ohad Smith Ph.D. on an exploration of themes and styles such as, French Art Deco, Mid-Century American Design, and Postmodernism in a weekly two-hour class, culminating with an expert-led, private tour behind the scenes of the New York Design exhibition at Phillips de Pury. The course will feature several guest speakers, including: Robert Kaplan of Cathers & Dembrosky, Dr. Alberto M. Eiber of the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, Jeannine Falino of MAD Museum, and several other experts in the field of collecting design!
