Ghislaine Viñas
Ghislaine Viñas (pronounced "ghee -lan veen - yas") started her design firm, Ghislaine Viñas Interior Design, in 1999. Never one to follow convention, Ghislaine is always on the lookout for things that make her smile. Obsessions include color, quirky objects, and the combinations of great simple design coupled with the unusual and unexpected. Born in the Netherland and schooled in South Africa, Ghislaine has called New York City home since 1990. She lives "blissfully" in downtown Manhattan with her graphic designer husband and her 2 little girls.

Disorganized homes drive me insane and, unfortunately, as a residential designer finding a home for all the stuff is part of my glamorous work. I took a break from work last week and had the most amazing week at TED Active in Palm Springs (thank you, Paige)! My brain is filled to the br... This is Danielle de Lange's blog in which she discovers and shares amazing interiors from around the globe. It has an incredible relaxed modern lived-in vibe and often has a northern European slant with a fresh mix of Mediterranean modern-- which makes it my "go to" blog for inspiration. Danielle also has an online store called Le Souk. I love the... In 2008, Dupont Corian and Missoni Home teamed up to present Corian Loves Missoni at Corian's Design showroom in Milan. I am keeping this image as inspiration--perfect color choices and just the right kind of banding that gives this shower such a relaxed modern fun feel. W... This list of designers keeps on growing as I am always on the lookout for fascinating talent. Tom Dixon is one of those designers who gets high marks in my books and he made my list a long time ago. There is a slight but deliberate awkwardness to his proportions which add an almost cartoon like quality to some of his pieces. The Scoop Chair which... Jaime Hayon is usually one of the first names out of my mouth! If the student/intern has a blank look on their face because this name is not familiar to them, I wonder to myself how sad it must be to live in a world of design and not have Jaime in your life...so sad! Yes, Jaime Hayon rules! We use his prod... More |
