One Good Chair Competition: The Finalists
One Good Chair 2010 Competition, a design context focused on sustainability, asked entrants to "do more with less." While I wonder if we seriously need any more chairs in this world, the competition is more of a thought provocation that uses a vernacular object to talk about material conservation, ergonomically appropriate design, and emotional relationships we have with our objects. The finalists have been announced, all of which succeed in the competition's goals to "both preserve natural resources and amplify human delight." Up until last week, the public could vote on their favorite, but we heard through the grapevine that the winner was chosen in Las Vegas' World Market last week and will be announced shortly! In the meantime, you can check out all the finalists, like the Broom Chair by Baita Design Studio, shown here, on the website.

This is apparently your attmpet to one-up Chuckles Sykes, Rick, who has been gloating about his son's multiple state tennis titles over the past couple weeks.Odd that Sykes didn't identify which of the various wives and former wives is the mother of the young star.

It looks like a poorly moeifidd stack (venturi at the corners, instead of reflectors); I should like to have seen the scaffolding for neat removal of bricks too.At first, I thought carbon sequestration in prime real-estate?' and what happened to the microwave relays?'Even better; make a smoking-friendly apartment and let the carbon sequestering people take it easy.Happy winter. (Or: I thought this North-America place was photoshopped from the start!)
