Domestic Ponds Bring Ecosystems to your Tabletop

November 15, 2010

Duende Studio Domestic Ponds

Indoor plants are one thing, tabletop ecosystems are quite another. French design firm Duende Studio has released a limited edition of "Domestic Ponds" that include fish, carefully selected plants, and nutrients to create mini-ecosystems within our homes. The project, which included an exhibition, was in collaboration with designers Mathieu Lehanneur, Benjamin Graindorge and Eric Jourdan, who each took a different approach to the aquarium, domestic water, natural resources, and small-scale flora. In each case, the fish and plants live in total harmony, with the plants nourished by the fish and vice versa. View the whole project via Duende Studio.

Hi Emily,
This is what I've been looking for, love this idea of indoor ecosystem, I think I'll post it on my blog. Thanks
