Two Designers, One Idea a Day
It's a pet peeve of mine to see designers who don't produce, just spinning their wheels on cool concepts without actually executing their creativity. Young designers Erika Zorzi and Matteo Sangalli, however, don't seem to have that problem. The duo, collectively called O1Mathery, began a project with the subtitle "Two young designers - One idea a day," during which they came up with and built one design project for every day during their school year. The ideas range from genius to clever, hilarious to silly, but definitely show an abundance of design thinking and creative proliferation. From a pine cone chair to a laptop oven (about which they say, "My computer reaches high temperature when it' s working! Why do not take advantage of it?? You bring food from home and heat it!"), the two young designers did hold true to their promise for the whole year and used mostly reclaimed materials in the process.
