A Bag with a Message

November 4, 2010

Sometimes the best way to change behavior is simply to have access to the information. In the case of biomass, a valuable energy source derived from living organisms like plants, wood, and waste, we may not even realize that we produce a good amount of it in our homes every day. A simple concept designed by Ahhaproject, this trash bag shows the user clearly how much energy its contents could produce, asking you to possibly reconsider tossing it to the curb. The bag is made from a biodegradable plastic, and spells out that its contents could produce enough power to drive a car 16 miles, recharge your cell phone over 300 times, or toast 500 slices of bread. Bet you never thought throwing away potential biomass could make such a difference!

That's very stupid. When you're tired or half aselep, you don't drive! As well as you don't drive when you're drunk !And you don't try to find a wounded bear !!!!

There needs to be enough inotimaorfn to orient and lead high up on the page, and to impel the user to look further down (the corollary is that users scroll!). It's useful to think of the fold as being dead, even if actually that's not completely true. It certainly isn't necessary to cram everything right at the top of a page! Imagine if Facebook tried to do that it would quickly fail. There's also the fact that more and more devices are used primarily in portrait orientation, which means the fold is twice as far down from the top of the page, and twice as meaningless!
