SolTech's Integrated Solar Technology
October 19, 2010

Let's face it: even the most efficient solar panels can often look like a complete afterthought: bulky plates atop a roof? And while Swedish company
SolTech Energy does not produce photovoltaics, it does have a genius solution for using the sun's heat energy for a useful purpose. SolTech panels are made from ordinary glass, but formed into the shape of common roof tiles.

Because of their form, they can be integrated just like roofing tiles, but with their internal pockets of air, they trap heat from the sun and in turn heat water incredibly efficiently. Genius, and aesthetically appropriate (sometimes green is best when it's subtle). The system was recently named
Hottest New Material 2010 by a Swedish construction industry magazine. Read all about it on the
company's website here.
