Gorgeous Desk Made From Rescued Books

September 21, 2010

TU Delft Architecture library desk

Delft University of Technology not only produces some talented Dutch designers, but walks the walk, filling its buildings and spaces with examples of such great design. Case in point: a new front desk built out of books salvaged from the library after a fire in the school of architecture two years ago. The new library, with a robust collection combining new purchases and the books saved from the fire, is a beautiful space with a desk that tells a story about its history, and its contents. Love it!

Если книги из которых сделан стол были спасены от пожара, то зачем из них стол сделали?

It conveys a sad feeling, a constant reminder of the wonderful books destroyed in the fire.

Beautiful Desk! I love how the colors of the books are in form of rainbow colors going from red to blue. VERY creative, and a great way to recycle books! I would LOVE to have a desk like that!
