Eco-friendly (and Beautiful!) Concrete

If you want to use concrete but can't seem to justify the environmental ramifications, North Carolina-based company Meld may have the answer: its new line of environmentally conscious concrete building interior materials, dubbed Micro, comes in a slab form and is made of up to 74 percent post-industrial content. The mixture also integrates natural minerals and cement, as well as recycled glass that is reclaimed from with 500 miles of Meld's manufacturing facility in North Carolina. The six standard colors would make for a great countertop or bathroom material. Check out more via the Meld website.

I love it when a material looks great regardless of the fact that it is eco-friendly! (not that being eco-friendly isn't important) Congrats Meld, color options for everyone too.

I do love these solid surfaces with recycled glass mixed in. So pretty. Very nice that the portion of recycled content is so high. Better than granite in my opinion.
