IDEO's Design Green Hotel Concept

June 22, 2010

Design consultancy IDEO recently partnered with hospitality design group WATG to create a new model for the sustainable hotel suite. The concept was the winning entry in a design challenge from the US Green Building Council, and combines luxury, high-tech amenities, and a human-centered experience (it was designed by IDEO, after all!). The design, dubbed "Haptik," in reference to the Greek word for tactile-based experiences, features an all-off room switch, solar heat capture in the shower, a graywater irrigation system, FSC wood products, LED lighting, and more. Read the whole story via WATG here.

Good article, MikeOne exipreence i learned during a LEAN product development traning is that, no dessigner or engineer should be left alone in the innovation phase. The team set up should all be part of the innovation and work together. If you have a team based innovation no one is to blame or put out in the cold . Perhaps this is one solution for the fear of doing wrong.//R
