Victor Vetterlein's Trash Me Lamp

Designer Victor Vetterlein has a new spin on cradle-to-cradle design. His Trash Me Lamp, instead, is a grave-to-grave design that might be the greenest of all. Instead of designing for long and indefinite lifecycles, Trash Me Lamp starts at the grave (the trash bin), brings material back to life, and plans for its demise. The lamps are made from an egg carton pulp that is poured over a mold and smoothed into shape. After drying, fasteners and electrical components are added. A paper bag filled with bird seed provides weight to stabilize the base. The designer says, "The intent of the Trash Me lamps project is to create a product that is born from the trash and returned to the trash after a short but useful life cycle.
