Molo Design's Cloud Softlight

May 11, 2010

One of my favorite design studios, Molo, known for their elegant softwalls made of paper, have released their latest produt, the Cloud Softlight, which lives up to the name perfectly. Made from Tyvek (uber-recyclable and durable) and lit up with LED bulbs, these lightweight and graceful fixtures seem to float. While I’m not one to usually love the luxury housewares, I give Molo a lot of credit for creating something absolutely stunning that speaks to the power of product design in an untraditional way. By using unexpected materials that are low-footprint and high-practicality, they critique the usual and make us stop to think. Check out their full product line here.

Because I am studying design fundamentals this semester, I would say that the thing that make a design beautiful and special is having design elements in the designed object like plain, point, line, space etc And arranging all design elements in the way we like is the main path of creating an original and aesthetic object
