Watch your Wattage: EnergyHub Power Monitor

May 10, 2010

Perhaps the best first step in saving energy is to monitor it (studies in the UK have shown that houses with water or electricity meters inside the house instead of outside use less resources, regardless of whether they are making an effort to do so). Just having information in a visible place often leads to better behavior. The new EnergyHub dashboard is a great place to start: the in-home dashboard measures power use and makes it visible on an easy-to-read dashboard. The device also connects wirelessly to a Temperature Control Unit that can auto-correct thermostats and air conditioning for maximum energy savings. EnergyHub will be available soon, and in the meantime you can put your name on their waiting list.
