Domingo Totora Paper Furniture for Touch NY

July 7, 2008

The recently launched Touch NY line showcases the convergence of artisanship and right-now design aesthetics, all wrapped up in a cloak of both social and environmental sustainability. Case in point: Domingo Totora’s line of natural paper and banana fiber furniture and home accessories. We’ve seen many a cardboard chair before, but here’s a poetic example of taking a usually non-structural material and giving it new function and meaning.

Domingo’s design philosophy is deeply rooted in his hometown of Maria da Fe, Brazil, and principles of sustainability and renewable organic cycles. Check out his benches, stools, and table accessories, along with other amazing Brazilian design at Touch NY.
