TED: The Energy Detective

October 14, 2008

Despite the fact that the red block letters are suspiciously reminiscent of the TED Conference and Prize’s branding, The Energy Detective (TED), is a super-powered, full-service energy monitor for home use. It can be quite simple, displaying your home’s energy stats clearly, or can be used to conduct a full home energy audit, too. The tiny gadget monitors electrical usage in real time, and calculates your utility bill throughout the month (no more surprises when it arrives in the mail). TED’s two-second reaction time and intuitive interface makes it a seamless addition to your countertop or side table. And, as we all know, the first step in energy conservation is awareness. You can’t change what you don’t know!
