Following the release of the gamechanging XO laptop, an affordable (and amazingly designed and engineered) affordable laptop for children in the developing world, Yves Behar’s fuseproject and the MIT-based One Laptop Per Child have since launched the XOXO second generation version, and now the latest XO-3 third generation tablet computer. The XO-3 boasts a semi-flexible plastic screen that has two modes to facilitate both indoor and outdoor use. The simple form will feature a full-touch keyboard, camera, reading mote, and more. The team is currently working on the final design in order to ship the XO-3’s in 2012, for just $75 per unit.
