In addition to the failure of Extreme Home Makeover to go beyond green-washing, they are doubly irresponsible in building huge homes for families that can ill afford to keep them. I live right next to one of their creations and while in the way of structural quality it is a vast improvement over the old house, the family struggles every month to keep the lights on and pay the bills. We should not point to Extreme Home Makeover as a good example of anything but massive hype that makes millions for ABC.
